<< BackMansfield Day at Eagles Mere 2012
On August 1, a group of 46 Mansfield University Alumni and Friends gathered at the beautiful Crestmont Inn located in Eagles Mere, PA. The annual gathering is a tradition that began more than 42 years ago, started by Marjorie Cole Lee '44 and her late husband Kenneth Lee '48. The event, which began as a small group of Marge's classmates gathering at the home of the Lee's, has grown to include between 40-60 people of all ages. As the number of guests has increased, the reunion has had to change locations from the Lee's home to its current location at the Crestmont Inn.
Class years of those in attendance this year ranged from 1943 to 2002, with each decade in between represented. Guests travelled from all over Pennsylvania and New York to enjoy an afternoon of connecting with old friends and meeting new acquaintances. A
lumni reminisced over photos and yearbooks, and shared news and updates about other classmates not in attendance. In her welcoming remarks, Marge urged those in attendance to keep the tradition alive. While the location and the guest list have changed over the years, one thing remains constant – the connection to and fondness for Mansfield University. "Old Mansfield, hail to thee!"
