Alumni Honor Former Faculty
This past fall Mansfield University received the sad news of the passing of Professor Katherine E. Keller, an illustrious faculty member of the university. As a cherished member of the Home Economics Department, Miss Keller’s departmental leadership and service were critical to the success of Mansfield University’s Home Economics program. Miss Keller was an educator, mentor, and friend who dedicated thirty years of her life instructing and inspiring students and colleagues.
The rich and productive lives of Mansfield graduates are Miss Keller’s legacy. She closely followed the postgraduate success of her students and took great pride in their accomplishments. She continued to share her wisdom, vision, and encouragement with former students long after their graduation day. She was demanding, yet fair and continued to motivate and inspire her students by example to study hard, think critically, and seek new challenges academically, professionally, and personally.
Miss Keller’s former students have paid tribute to her lasting legacy with the establishment of “The Katherine E. Keller Endowed Scholarship Fund.” This fund will assist future generations of Mansfield University students in their quest for knowledge, understanding, and productive skills by providing scholarship assistance for students pursuing a degree in Nutrition.
If you would like more information or to join fellow alum and friends in honoring Miss Keller by contributing to this special fund, please contact Mindy Engel at the Mansfield University Foundation at 570.662.4296 or email@example.com.

In 2009, Mansfield celebrated the History of Home Economics as part of the Alumni Weekend festivities. Many Home Economics alumni and faculty returned to campus to celebrate and were honored with a reception at the President's Residence. An informative history of the program was compiled and published. Click here to enjoy "Home Economics: Eight Decades of Training and Service". Click here to view photos of Alumni Weekend 2009.
